CHICHESTER OBSERVER 22nd July 2004 Tom Napper and Tom Bliss, Old Kitchen, Bishops-Palace. I don't really enjoy country music so I approached this show with trepidation. The tickets also seemed suspiciously cheap - could Napper & Bliss be any good? Tom Napper and Tom Bliss are actually fantastically good. They talk, sing and play with great style and energy, putting on a show that's never less than pleasant on the ear, interesting and amusing. Both took it in turns to work through a lovely selection of instruments and anecdotes, at a ratio of about 30:70 between talk and music. The first half whizzed by, and then the audience got treated to a second half that was even better. A perfect performance beautifully suited to the Bishop's Old Kitchen - without doubt the best thing I've seen at Chichester Festivities in many years. Jeremy Evans | ||||
